Utilizing a balance is the most precise way to perform dosing operations involving liquids and gases. A diaphragm piston pump transports the liquid reactants to the reactor in a controlled manner. In case of reactive gases an electrically controlled valve (third party products) can be utilized.

Description
Dosing can be dependent on time, temperature, or pH (pH-stat). Gases and liquids are transferred to the reactor at a constant feed rate. The hardware interfaces are flexible to build-up application specific devices. Similarly, individual equipment can be set-up to dose suspensions or solids at a constant feed rate. In the event of a highly exothermic reaction, a temperature band can be defined. Dosing will occur when the temperature is within this band. The dosing will be stopped when the temperature limit is exceeded to protect the installation and the operator. When the temperature falls below this limit, the dosing will automatically resume.
The graphic illustrates two dosings programmed with the iControlTM Software. The software handles up to six independent dosings simultaneoeusly. “Quasi” non-linear additions can be programmed by combining different linear additions.
